We are excited to have you join our program! In case you are new to YMCA programs, here is some general information to help you prepare for your first day.
If you have questions about other program content, please contact our front desk at 293-9622 and a member of our membership staff will be able to connect your call to the appropriate department. You can also check the Program Frequently Asked Questions for additional information.
The first day of programs is an exciting time for everyone. It can also be a very busy day with many new faces. We recommend that you arrive 20 minutes early so that you have ample time to park, pick up your program access card, and find the locker room and class area. Parents should remain in the viewing areas for each program. Many times participants will have family members that would like to come to observe the classes. Guests of participants may observe, although they will need an ID to gain entrance into the buildings and must stay with the participant’s family.
What to bring and what to wear: Bring your membership or program participant card (if you already have one), a lock for your locker, and a water bottle. The YMCA provides towel service for members and program participants. Dress comfortably for all programs. Persons with long hair should tie it back for the programs. Some programs may require additional items; eye protection for Racquetball, helmet for Skate Park and glove for baseball. If you are participating in swimming lessons off-site during pool construction, participants must bring their own towels.
Parking: The YMCA has two parking lots for members and participants to use. During busy times, these lots can fill quickly, so we would like to remind you of the other options available. After 5:00 pm and on weekends, our members and participants are welcome to park in the lower level of the parking ramp for no charge. Evening and weekend parking is also available in the Wells Fargo parking lot and the Professional Building lot, which is located across 4th Street. If you are participating in swimming lessons off-site during pool construction, participants must park near the pool entrances (which are marked by a blue ” YMCA Member Entrance” sign.) and must have a YMCA parking pass on your car (view off-site pool locations and learn how to receive a parking pass online!).
Arrival: When you enter the building, visit the front desk where our membership staff can issue your program card. This card lets you into the building for classes and is yours to keep for future classes as well. Our membership staff can also assist you with directions to the locker rooms and program areas.
Locker Rooms: Should you need access to the locker rooms for the programs, we offer three types of locker rooms depending on the age of the participant. The Family Locker room is for families with children of different sexes. The youth locker rooms are for parents with the same sex child or youth under the age of 15. The Adult locker room is for persons over 15 only due to insurance requirements.
Weather cancellations: When bad weather threatens, you may wonder if your class will be held. This information is available on our storm line at 701-364-4159 and on our website at www.ymcacassclay.org. Information is updated as needed.
Thanks for choosing the Y! We hope that you will enjoy your time with us and experience all that we have to offer!
