The YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties offers Red Cross safety education courses. Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor Trainings allow participants to learn life-saving skills and become certified for fun and rewarding jobs. YMCA aquatics staff even have the ability to work year-round! The Y also offers CPR/AED classes for adult, child and infant certifications as well as first aid.

For certified Lifeguards who need to renew their Lifeguarding and First Aid certifications. Participants must be currently certified or within about 3 months of expiration. Participants will take the written test for Lifeguarding and First Aid training, as well as perform all the skills learned in a Lifeguarding class. It is expected that participants have reviewed all information before attending a challenge course. This is a Red Cross certification program.

Water Safety Instructor Training : Ages 16 & Up
Participants must be 16 years of age by the last day of class, and be able to complete level 4 exit skills. Pre-test of level 4 skills will be done the first night of class. Participants need to bring a one piece suit or swim trunks and goggles. Participants must be in attendance at all class times.
