There is no other non-profit quite like the YMCA.
At the YMCA, we are a cause-driven organization committed to providing support to our neighbors and opportunities for kids, adults and families to give, join in or advocate in the name of stronger communities.
The YMCA is a cause-driven organization dedicated to lifting up youth, promoting good health and creating stronger, more connected communities. We are able to fulfill our mission of enhancing the spirit, mind and body of all through the generosity of our members and donors. Whether it’s through time, talents, energy or funds, when you give back, you help strengthen our community. The generosity of others is at the core of our existence. Join our cause and make a lasting impact!
As a not-for-profit organization, we greatly appreciate dedicated individuals who are willing to share their time and talents through volunteering. At the YMCA, we provide many one-time and ongoing opportunities for business leaders, community advocates, parents and individuals who want to give back and support their neighbors. Volunteering at the YMCA is a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and contacts, advocate for a mission you believe in, extend a hand to someone in need, influence policies, positively impact yours and others’ well-being, learn new skills and simply support your neighbors.
LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA
Our YMCA has helped over 400 cancer survivors rebuild strength and wellness following treatment. It is a FREE 12-week wellness program designed for cancer survivors who have become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from their disease and/or treatment. The focus is on cardiorespiratory fitness and strength training with the outcome of the class being overall wellness and confidence.
To bring about meaningful change, individuals need ongoing encouragement and tools. We’re here day-in and day-out to provide the resources our communities need to address the most pressing social issues. We work to make sure every child, family and community has what they need to achieve their best. If you or someone you know is in need, the YMCA can connect you to resources within our organization and in our community. Listed here are a handful of programs that we offer to assist local families:
Lifeguard and Babysitting Trainings allow participants to learn life-saving skills and become certified for fun and rewarding jobs. The YMCA also offers CPR/AED classes for adult, child and infant certifications as well as first aid.
As an interconnected global network, the Y has the resources and solutions to build bridges and make our changing communities stronger-both at home and abroad.
