At the YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties, We Build More than Muscle. We commit to more than simply becoming healthier.
At the YMCA:
Babies learn trust and security, preschoolers experience early literacy and learn about their world and school age kids make friends, learn new skills and work through their homework and other projects with role models. In 2016, we served 3,400 youth in 30 child care sites.
Families spend quality time together and build relationships that deepen their sense of belonging while playing in the Kids’ Gym, Aquatic Center, Basketball Gyms and more.
Young professionals connect with a network of peers to develop their careers, volunteer and strengthen our community in the Brighter Futures program.
No child is turned away because of an inability to pay, because of scholarships provided by our Partner of Youth Annual Campaign. Additionally, individuals and families are able to get back on their feet, while receiving financial assistance through the Y Match Program, which reduces the cost for membership, programs and more. Over 1 million dollars in financial assistance is provided annually to scholarship recipients participating in YMCA programs and services.
Youth have the best summer ever while horseback riding, swimming, fishing, camping, gaining independence, meeting new friends and stepping out of their comfort zone at Busy Beaver Camp, Camp Koda, Camp Cormorant and more.
Youth, who may otherwise not get fed, are served dinner every night in the summer. In 2016, we provided 35,178 meals and 1,225 snacks during the summer food program.
Individuals and families support the values and programs that strengthen our community, build new friendships, healthier lifestyles and brighter futures …and so much more.
