COVID-19 Meal Program

Last updated on Monday, June 1.

The YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties is providing lunches and snacks around the community to help ensure that children don’t go hungry during this time. We want to help kids continue to be healthy in spirit, mind, and body by providing them access to healthy, nutritious meals, which are made available in partnership with the State of North Dakota and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Lunches and snacks are distributed to-go-style FREE of charge to children ages 18 years and younger at two locations in the FM area.

A vehicle (labeled with a Y logo) will be parked in the front parking lot near each of the school’s front doors distributing the meals to families during the distribution times listed below. Each child will receive one ‘to go’ meal bag per day, which will be distributed via walk-up to families (for sites in which there may be a line, we encourage individuals to stand six or more feet apart from each other). Each meal bag will include lunch and a snack. Lunches will include the following components: protein, grain, vegetable, fruit and milk. Each snack will include two of the five dinner components (will vary by day). All meals meet standards established by the USDA.

Additional food may be picked up for the weekend during the distribution times on Fridays. Families must request this additional food by contacting Katie Anderson, Learning Center Food Program Coordinator, at kathryn.anderson@ymcacassclay.org or 218.359.2322. Requests must be made by the previous Wednesday.

Additional meals may be purchased at $5/bag for anyone over the age of 18. If a parent/guardian is picking up a meal on behalf of their child(ren), please provide proof (ie. school id, family picture, email from daycare, etc.).
