Four of the five YMCA Early Learning Centers are currently accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and all other programs are currently working towards accreditation. Our School Age Learning Center – Fercho Branch is accredited through National Afterschool Alliance and School Age Learning Center – Schlossman is accredited through the Council on Accreditation. All School Age Learning Centers are also working to achieve this distinction. Accreditation signifies that our programs meet the highest standards in ten core areas, exceeding standards required by state licensing.
NAEYC administers the largest and most widely recognized accreditation system for all types of early childhood programs and child care centers. NAEYC is the nation’s largest organization of early childhood educators. Families rely on NAEYC Accreditation to ensure the quality of education and care provided in programs for young children. NAEYC Accreditation is the mark of quality, helping parents find the best possible early childhood experience. Accreditation focuses on ten standards ensuring high quality care: Relationships, Curriculum, Teaching, Assessment of Child Progress, Health, Teachers, Families, Community Relationships, Physical Environment, and Leadership and Management.
