YMCA School Age Learning Centers offers a variety of activities especially planned to supplement what the children are learning in their school day by aligning state standards with our lesson plans. Activities include: homework club, science, arts and humanities, character development, music dramatic play, conflict resolution, literacy, math, social skills, physical fitness and social studies.
YMCA School Age Learning Centers provide themed, hands-on, enrichment lessons aligned with the state standards. The Site Coordinators work closely with school administration to enhance what the children are learning in the classroom.
Curricula used: Kidz Lit, Kidz Math, Readers’ Theater, GEMS (Great Exploration in Math and Science), and FROG Learning Games.
Activities include: Homework help, science, math, literacy, music, dramatic play, conflict resolution, learning and exploration centers, character development, cooking projects, arts/crafts, daily physical fitness, and outside play.
