YMCA personal trainers provide support for ALL fitness levels.

We define your unique needs and build a personal fitness plan specifically for you. This personal attention will help you reach your goals and make healthy living a part of your lifestyle. Our personal trainers are here to help and truly care about your total health and well-being. Because our personal training is done in the Y environment, it’s comfortable, approachable, and not intimidating. Scheduling is very flexible! A personal trainer is available at both locations, every day from open to close.

Partner Training
Working out is more fun when you do it with friends – and personal training is, too! Get all the advantages of YMCA Personal Training in a fun partner setting. With Partner Training, you and your friend can tackle your health and wellness goals together with the support of one of our experienced personal trainers. 

How to Purchase
Personal Training sessions must be purchased in-person at either Member Services Desk. At time of purchase, participants will receive a ‘card’ for each session purchased which needs to be turned in upon redemption.

How to Schedule
Personal Training sessions may be scheduled at either Member Services Desk, Fitness Desk or over the phone at 701.293.9622. Sessions must be paid for in full before they are scheduled with a trainer. Personal Training sessions cannot be scheduled online.

How to Redeem
Purchased ‘cards’ must be turned into your scheduled personal trainer at the start of each session.

Smart Start Fitness Center Orientation

Don’t forget to take advantage of your FREE Smart Start Fitness Center Orientation to get you on the right track to achieve your wellness goals. Whether you’re a life-long athlete or just joined a gym for the first time, we want you to feel comfortable in our facility!

Here’s what to expect from the orientation:

Get to know the YMCA Fitness Center: There’s always something new to learn when you join a new facility! We’ll walk you through our Fitness Center guidelines, show you how to use our cardio and weight equipment, review basic fitness etiquette, and answer any questions you may have!

Health and Fitness at the YMCA: The YMCA offers health and wellness programming for ALL levels of fitness! During your session, we’ll also talk you through some of our other classes and programs, our Foundations courses, group fitness classes, wellness challenges, and more!

Next Steps: Whatever your health and wellness goals are, the YMCA is here to help! During your session, you’ll get take-home wellness info, goal-setting worksheets, and more! We can also help you get signed up for a second FREE session – like Lap Swim Foundations, Yoga Foundations, or a 60 min. Personal Training Session – that will get you plugged into our community and on your way to reaching your goals! Learn more about your next steps in the section below!
