Why yoga at the YMCA?
YMCA yoga classes meet the needs of beginner or advanced students. Our unique yoga practice is based on intuition and tradition. No matter the age, weight, strength of flexibility of the student, our classes are for everyone. Discover the health benefits of yoga while building strength, releasing tension and increasing flexibility in the body. The YMCA offers 20 classes per week between our two facilities. And the best part? These classes are included in your YMCA membership!
What are the benefits of yoga?
Yoga helps to improve strength, balance, circulation, flexibility, energy and concentration, it also helps to decrease stress and relieve tension. In short, yoga makes you feel better. Practicing the postures, breathing exercises and meditation makes you healthier in body, mind and spirit.
Yoga Class Descriptions
||A foundation class to learn basic postures with a focus on alignment, modifications and breath work.|
|Mixed Level||An intermediate class to build upon foundation knowledge and integrate various posture options.|
|Level II||A challenging class to integrate advanced postures and flow. Intermmediate Vinyasa Yoga.|
|Yoga in Motion||A flowing practice that links breath to movement and strengthens the mind-body connection.|
|Silver Sneakers Yoga||A series of seated and standing poses to increase flexibility, balance and range of motion.|

FOGA (Fargo Organization Giving through Asana) is a movement created by our YMCA to create unity, bring awareness and raise dollars for local causes in the Fargo/Moorhead/West Fargo community by hosting donation-based yoga classes. FOGA’s mission is to make yoga accessible, fun and community-minded. Events are free will donation (suggested minimum $5) and 100% of the proceeds go to designated charities. This all-levels class is designed to help you relax, melt away tension, decrease feelings of stress and increase a sense of peacefulness and is done in the gentle glow of candle light. Classes are held monthly in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Events are free will donation (suggested minimum $5) and 100% of the proceeds go to LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA. Yoga in the Park
Yoga in the Park is an annual summer event series, hosted by hosted by the YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties, Fargo Park District and Courts Plus. All yoga classes are held in Island Park, just outside of the Fercho YMCA in the heart of Downtown Fargo. Events are free will donation (suggested minimum $5) and 100% of the proceeds go to designated charities. Bring a mat, a water bottle, and group of friends!
