This hour-long interval fitness class includes resistance training, cardio, agility, suspension training, and high-energy exercises for your entire body. XYZ classes are included in membership and are broken into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training, moving from station to station. These fitness workouts incorporate endurance, strength and power elements through a variety of equipment including rowers, TRX® suspension training, free weights – and your own body weight!
To get the most out of your workout, XYZ participants are encouraged to wear ‘MyZone’ heart-rate monitors during class, which brings an entirely new element to your workout and are designed to keep heart rates in a target zone that quickens metabolism and boosts energy. Monitors are available for purchase at the YMCA Member Services Desk (special member price: $60, non-members: $150). With these monitors, you will be able to track your effort and heart rate. You will also be able to sync your monitor to your smart phone and view live calorie burning data during your workout, track your workout history, make social connections, compete in group challenges and more! The heart rate monitor will also tell you what ‘zone’ you need to stay in to get the best work out and see the biggest results. The heart rate monitors take the guesswork out of exercise. Participants simply strap on a monitor, track their workout on the screen in class, work hard and stay in the zone. No worrying. No scheduling strength workouts on opposite days of cardio. This class is designed to burn the most calories in the smartest, most efficient way.
XYZ Training is for individuals of all fitness levels and is designed to motivate, energize and excite health-seekers. With two highly-skilled coaches at each class, participants will be encouraged and supported during the entire workout. From the professional athlete to the new mom getting back into a routine, participants will be inspired to knock down health barriers and reach their goals. These classes provide camaraderie, a supportive environment and are simply just fun! Classes are limited to 30 participants per class to allow for the best experience and are available for ages 15+.
